Synopsis: As the tension between the great superpowers grows, the United States conducts submarine maneuvers in the Pacific. The crew includes Captain Dmitri Zubov, a marine expert who lives haunted by his past. The mission is to find out what is the objective of the Soviet submarine B756. When the B756 stops issuing a position report, the Fleet command registers the ship as missing. Meanwhile, deep in the Pacific, Captain Zubov and the crew of the B-756 discover a plot that could destroy humanity.
