Synopsis: After her husband is murdered by the mob, Rose has to make a living by making artificial flowers. Frank, a friend of his neighbor will be able to get her affection although his daughter Mary is very jealous and contrary to his relationship with that woman, to Ralphie the son of Rose, who is locked up in a working farm will be very happy for the happiness of his mother.

Review: Sophia Loren won the Venice Film Festival best actress award for her portrayal of Rose Bianco (White Rose) in The Black Orchid. The remainder of the cast are equally impressive (with a special nod to Anthony Quinn) in this engrossing drama. Pop some corn, turn the phone off and enjoy.
