Synopsis: Dave Kujan (Chazz Palminteri), a special agent of the United States customs service, is investigating the causes of the fire on a ship, in the port of San Pedro de Los Angeles, which caused 27 deaths, although all appear to have been murdered . His only source of information is Roger Kint (Kevin Spacey), a crippled con man who survived the fire. At the police station, Kint tells how it all started six weeks earlier in New York, when five criminals, five “usual suspects”, were arrested for a recognition round related to the robbery of a weapons truck…
Review: In its day, this dense and overwhelming intrigue broke the mold and was among the most interesting and innovative proposals of the thriller of the nineties. Singer’s sober but robust camera work joins the unsurpassed work of the acting cast, in which, as usual, an overwhelming Kevin Spacey shines.
Bryan Singer made a haunting movie, with a classic scent. Kevin Spacey was great in it but so was Gabriel Byrne and Benicio del Toro.
